Charles Arthur Cox (1857-1936)
Charles Arthur Cox was born in Liverpool, the son of artist Charles Hudson Cox. He attended Birkenhead School of Art and furthered his studies in Antwerp.
Cox also worked for The Graphic and Daily Graphic newspapers as art correspondent.
He exhibited at the Royal Cambrian Academy, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.
Cox was also a member of the Liver Sketching Club in the 1930's. A marine oil by Cox is in the collection of Williamson Art Gallery. An artist with the same name illustrated the cover of the popular American cycling magazine 'Bearings' circa 1900.
