Arthur Reginald Smith (1871-1934)
He was born and educated at Skipton-in-Craven, Yorkshire. He studied at the Keighley School of Art and later taught there as well. In 1901 he moved to the Royal College of Art, taking a degree in 1904. He won a travelling scholarship and studied in Italy before returning to England. Later he worked in both France and England, living mainly in his native Yorkshire. He was known for his watercolor landscapes, and was a member of the Royal Watercolour Society.
