Oscar Ricciardi (1864-1935)
Born in Naples, he was a self taught painter, who at the start of his career painted romantic historical scenes. He was considered by some to be the head of Impressionism in Naples. His main subjects were the marinas, markets, beaches, scenery and customs of Naples. His clients were mostly foreigners, among them the Duke of Aosta and the Duke of Connaught. His paintings can be found in art galleries as well as private collections.
