Robert Thorne Waite, RWS (1842-1935)
A prominent painter of pastoral scenes, especially in Yorkshire & Southern England. Born in Cheltenham, he studied at South Kensington School of Art. He exhibited extensively, including 496 works at the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours. Examples of his work are in the Victoria & Albert Museum & numerous other museums & galleries.
