William Collingwood, RI, RWS. (1819-1903)
Prominent Watercolour landscape painter born in Greenwich and studied under James Duffield Harding and Samuel Prout. Became an Associate of the Royal Institute in 1846 and a full member in 1848, he then resigned in 1854. He became an associate of the Royal Watercolour Society in 1855 and was elected a full member in 1884. He lived in Liverpool, Hastings and latterly Bristol where he died. He exhibited 151 works at the Royal Watercolour Society, & elsewhere.
