Henry Jutsum (1816-1869)
Landscape painter. Born in London; educated in Devon. In 1839 he became a pupil of James Stark. For sometime devoted himself to watercolour, & in 1843 was elected a member of the New Watercolour Society. However, he preferred to paint in oil & in 1848 resigned his membership, afterwards painting mainly in oil. He exhibited at the Royal Academy 1836-68, British Institution, Suffolk Street, New Watercolour Society & elsewhere.
