William Collingwood Smith, RWS (1815-1887)

The son of an amateur artist & musician , Smith was always intended for an artist & was exhibiting at the R.A. at 21. He had occasional lessons from J.D. Harding & later had the largest teaching practice in London. He was elected A.O.W.S. & O.W.S. in 1843 & 1849.
